AIMS
To represent and inform the local population and lead a campaign to maintain healthcare services in the Builth & Llanwrtyd area.
In particular BACH will fight to maintain and develop a healthcare provision in Builth Wells that includes inpatient beds and ensure there is no withdrawal of beds at Builth Hospital unless equivalent, fully operational services are in place in Builth Wells.
In pursuance of this BACH will:
- oppose the current Local Health Board plans detailed in “Doing More Doing Better” and approved at the Board meeting of September 2006. These plans do not include bed provision for Builth Wells
- closely monitor the activity of the Local Health Board and Welsh Assembly and publicise threats to cut services or even close the hospital
- work closely with other groups formed to fight for community hospitals
- work closely with local and national media
- promote community hospitals at a local and national level
